LEFT BEHIND

DOCUMENTARY SCREENING

Woodstock Film Festival
Friday October 18th 2024
Bearsville Theater, Woodstock, NY

We’re excited to announce the release of Left Behind,  a gripping documentary that chronicles LAC’s journey to open the nation’s first public school for students with dyslexia. Directed by Emmy Award winner Anna Toomey, the film sheds light on how the public school system fails to meet the needs of students with learning disabilities, contributing to the school-to-prison pipeline.

Left Behind will premiere at the 25th anniversary of the Woodstock Film Festival on Friday, October 18 at 5:00 pm at the Bearsville Theater. Following the screening, a Q&A will be hosted by Juju Chang, Emmy Award-winning co-anchor of ABC News’ “Nightline,” to discuss the emotional impact of dyslexia on families and the broader issue of the school-to-prison pipeline.
