How the city is helping students with dyslexia

Dyslexia is believed to affect 20% of the population, and for the city's public schools, that could mean hundreds of thousands of students. For years, parents and teachers have struggled to identify dyslexia and implement new ways of learning. But beginning this school year, Mayor Eric Adams is launching a pilot program to better screen students for learning disabilities and teach them new ways of reading.
